We’re Gabriel and Kristy, the couple behind SailingDirectory.com.au and YouSail.
Our dream is simple. Buy a sailing yacht, move aboard and see where the wind takes us. Australia first. Then the Pacific. Maybe much further.
We’re not there yet. We’re still learning, taking courses, spending time on boats and asking a lot of questions.
Finding the people who make it possible.
Where do we learn to sail? Who can check the rigging? Which sailmaker understands the kind of cruising we want to do? Where can we keep the boat, find a club or get help when something needs fixing?
The answers were scattered across business websites, forums and Facebook groups. We wanted one place that brought Australian sailing businesses and practical information together. Somewhere to understand what we needed before picking up the phone.
That’s SailingDirectory.com.au. It’s the sailing directory we needed ourselves, built by two sailors in the making.

Our category guides help you get your bearings, prepare better questions and work out what matters for your boat, experience and plans. The directory connects that research with the businesses and services that can help.
Business information comes from YouSail, which remains the source of truth for listing details. SailingDirectory.com.au adds the guides and context around those listings. Updates to business information belong on YouSail so the details can stay consistent across the network.
We’re not going to pretend we’ve visited every business or sailed into every harbour in Australia. We haven’t. We’re learning as we go and sharing what we find. Our guides are a starting point; the people providing the service are the ones to ask about current availability, suitability and the details of your particular boat.
Somewhere out there is the yacht that will become our home, and the people who will help us get there.
