Sailing Directory helps you understand a job, prepare better questions and find the people to ask. We want readers to know what our content can establish and where to check the details.
The people behind the site
The site is founded by Gabriel Machuret, a marketer and website builder working towards life aboard with his partner Kristy. We are sailors in the making, not a panel of marine surveyors, instructors or engineers. Our editorial voice reflects that: practical preparation, clear questions and respect for the people doing the work.
Business facts belong to YouSail
YouSail is the source of truth for published business records. The directory displays a read-only selection of those records when the connection is available. A business’s presence is not an endorsement, a guarantee of availability or a claim that we have used its services. Confirm scope, qualifications where relevant, pricing and current arrangements directly.
Guidance before a conversation
Our guides focus on choosing services, preparing enquiries and understanding decisions. They are not navigation instructions or an assessment of a particular vessel. Technical, safety, insurance and transaction questions should go to the appropriate professional or authority. Where we point to official or manufacturer guidance, follow the source for current details and the instructions relevant to your equipment or location.
AI assistance and illustrations
AI assists with drafting and organising editorial content. It does not visit businesses, inspect boats or establish professional credentials. Our custom editorial images are AI-generated illustrations and are labelled accordingly. Images shown on business cards come from the published source record; an editorial illustration is never presented as a photograph of that business. The mascot is part of our visual identity.
Dates, sources and corrections
An editorial update date records work on the page, not a promise that every business or external source was independently rechecked that day. We avoid presenting unverified prices, availability or ratings. Regional pages link to the relevant official information so readers can check current requirements and notices. If a link changes or a passage needs correction, we want to know.
Email gabriel@yousail.com.au with the page address, the wording in question and any useful supporting source. For a business listing correction, identify the YouSail record as well. Keeping the correction at the source helps the information remain consistent across the sailing network.
Read, compare, then ask
Begin with a practical guide, explore a sailing region or browse the service categories. The useful next step is a better conversation with someone who understands your boat and your plans.
