About Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club
## Introduction
Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club traces its origins to 1896 and occupies Keane's Point at 1 Hobbs Place, Peppermint Grove. The elevated clubhouse looks across Freshwater Bay to Melville Water and combines heritage rooms, dining and function facilities with a full-service marina and boat‑handling infrastructure. RFBYC is active at club, state, national and international levels and is a foundation member of the International Council of Yacht Clubs.
## Activities and identity
RFBYC runs a broad spectrum of sailing: off‑the‑beach development fleets and coaching, keelboat and mixed-division racing, offshore events and powerboating. The club supports both recreational and high‑performance pathways and stages signature events including the Bunbury and Return Ocean Race. Its facilities and location make it suitable for dinghy sailors, keelboat crews and offshore competitors alike.
