About Sail Darwin
Sail Darwin runs sunset cruises and private charters on Darwin Harbour from Dock 1 at Stokes Hill Wharf. Sunset sails include food and drinks, while private day and night charters cater for corporate functions, birthdays, and hens and bucks parties, and a daytime high tea is available on request. The crew also runs multi-day trips to remote stretches of the Top End coast.
The boat is Sundancer NT, a 15-metre aluminium sailing catamaran with a fractional sloop rig, designed by Peter Kerr and built by Lizard Yachts in 2005. She has five air-conditioned cabins and a large saloon, and is licensed for up to 30 passengers inshore and 12 offshore. Before charter work she served as a fishing mothership, research vessel and live-aboard dive boat. The business is run by Darwin locals.
The sunset sail suits visitors and groups wanting an easy evening on the harbour, while the expedition trips suit small groups keen to see remote coastline. Check the timetable for scheduled sailings, and ask about trip lengths, pricing and children before booking.
