About Sailing Pittwater
Sailing Pittwater is a small owner-operated business at Newport on Sydney's Northern Beaches. It charters one yacht, Sha Meduza, a 2007 Hunter 38 sloop with a full galley, hot and cold showers, Raymarine electronics and berths for seven overnight. Owner Paul confirms the exact pick-up point when you book.
Most charters are bareboat, from a single eight-hour day to midweek or weekend packages or a full week exploring Pittwater, Broken Bay, Cowan Creek and the Hawkesbury River, and the website has guides to anchorages such as The Basin, Refuge Bay, Jerusalem Bay and Smith Creek. With notice, Paul can skipper a day sail or give instruction, and the boat is also used for romantic escapes, family holidays, birthdays and corporate days.
It suits competent crews who want their own boat on sheltered cruising water close to Sydney. Bareboat charterers need extensive sailing experience, or can add a skipper or instruction. Rates are lower from May to September and higher over Christmas, with a surcharge on school and public holidays.
