About Windsurfing Western Australia

Windsurfing Western Australia (WWA) is the state body for windsurfing in WA, affiliated with Australian Sailing. It brings windsurfers together to promote and develop the sport, organises events for sailors of all skill levels and disciplines, and advocates for continued access to sailing spots that are increasingly under pressure.

Its calendar includes wave sailing, slalom and speed events, with major events at Coronation Beach near Geraldton, including the 2027 Wave Rally World Championships, as well as regional sessions in the South West. For young sailors, WA Windsurfing Kids and Juniors offers fortnightly lessons on the river. Contact WWA at info@windsurfingwa.org.au; postal address PO Box 493, Claremont WA 6910.

Western Australia is one of the world's great windsurfing states. Its reliable summer sea breezes, long coastline and world-class spots attract sailors from around the globe. Coronation Beach, about 30 kilometres north of Geraldton, is rated among the finest windsurfing locations anywhere. Further south, Lancelin's Ocean Classic is billed as the world's longest windsurfing race. WWA works with clubs across the state, including [Safety Bay Windsurfing Club](/directory/safety-bay-windsurfing-club), to keep the sport growing.
