About Port Broughton Sailing and Boat Club
Port Broughton Sailing & Boat Club is much more than a sailing club. Based at the Boatshed Complex at 370 Fishermans Bay Road, Port Broughton, on upper Spencer Gulf, it combines community sailing and sail training with boat building and restoration, a working maritime museum, community gardens and the town's annual rubber duck races.
**What the club offers** - Community sailing, club racing and local regattas. - Sail training, plus boat building and restoration, with volunteers restoring timber boats on site. - A maritime museum of sailing and power boats, outboard motors and artefacts including paintings, lifesaving gear and radios. - An organic community garden and the annual rubber duck races.
The Boatshed Complex is usually open on Wednesdays from 9am to 2pm, and it has featured in South Australia's History Festival. Among the displays is an 11-foot model of the boat Triumph built by one of the club's volunteers.
Membership is open to everyone, including businesses, and new volunteers are always welcome. Contact the club at pbsbc@hotmail.com. The club is registered as "Port Broughton Sailing and Boat Club", though some sailing directories list it as "Port Broughton Yacht Club".
