About Sunshine Sailing Australia
Sunshine Sailing Australia is a sailing school at Mooloolaba Marina on Parkyn Parade, on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. It teaches under both the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and American Sailing (ASA) systems, with practical courses on the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay and selected courses in the Whitsundays.
Beginners can start with ASA 101 or RYA Start Yachting. The RYA route continues through Competent Crew, Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper, and the ASA route through ASA 103, ASA 104 and the ASA 114 catamaran endorsement, with many practical courses available on a catamaran as well as a monohull. RYA theory can be studied online or in a classroom, and the school also runs RYA Powerboat Level 2, RYA Diesel, charter preparation, boat electrics and weather courses, plus private tuition on your own boat.
It suits sailors preparing for a bareboat charter, particularly on catamarans, and interstate students who want to complete theory online before travelling. Check the location and boat type for each course when booking.
