About SV Rhona H
SV Rhona H is a heritage ketch built in Tasmania in 1942, billed as Hobart's oldest and smallest operating tall ship. She sails from Elizabeth Street Pier on the Hobart waterfront. Two-hour River Derwent sails run most weekends with tea or coffee and a light refreshment, and some Thursday twilight sails run too.
Private charters take up to 10 people: a two-hour sail under the Tasman Bridge and past Battery Point and Sandy Bay, a three-hour sail with a vegetarian Tasmanian lunch, or a weekday twilight sail with canapés. Longer trips to Bruny Island and Port Arthur and custom sailing programs are also mentioned, and gluten-free and vegan refreshments are available.
All ages are welcome, and children are encouraged to steer, haul lines and ring the bell, so it suits families and small celebrations. Bring a warm jacket and flat shoes, check the booking page for current sail dates, and ask directly about pricing for longer trips.
