About Atlas Sailing
Atlas Sailing is a Sydney sailing school based at Mosman Bay Marina on the lower north shore of Sydney Harbour. It was set up by owner Justin Lynch, who holds instructor qualifications with both Australian Sailing and the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), and runs courses on Sydney Harbour and nearby coastal waters.
Beginners can start with a three-hour Keelboat Discover Sailing Experience and progress through the Australian Sailing keelboat levels, from Start Crewing and Start Helming to Start Skippering, spinnaker and racing. Cruising sailors can complete RYA Competent Crew and Day Skipper practical training over a series of weekends aboard Beneteau 40.7 cruiser-racers. The school also runs NSW boat licence and Australian Sailing powerboat courses, ICC assessments and orientation training for Freedom Boat Club members.
Atlas suits Sydney sailors who want to learn in short sessions around work, or build towards an RYA Day Skipper certificate without a week-long liveaboard. When booking, confirm which venue a session runs from and which courses lead to a formal certificate.
