About Liquid Edge Sailing School
Liquid Edge Sailing School is based in Mort Bay, Balmain, just west of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was founded in 2011 alongside Liquid Edge Yacht Charters and is an International Yacht Training (IYT) training centre, able to issue the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) in Sydney under IYT accreditation.
Courses run on the school's Bavaria 37 monohull and Seawind 1000 catamaran, starting with try-sailing sessions and Competent Crew and moving through the IYT International Crew and International Bareboat Skipper (ICC) courses to IYT Coastal Yachtmaster. The school also teaches VHF radio licence classes, docking and man-overboard days, and private training, usually with four or five students per course. Liquid Edge also runs skippered and bareboat charters on Sydney Harbour.
It suits complete beginners, couples learning to handle a boat short-handed, new boat owners and sailors who need an ICC to charter in Europe, and students travelling from further away can stay aboard for a small fee. Check each course's prerequisites, sea-time requirements and current dates before booking.
